As i start my first blog, the question, why? came to my mind. George Orwell's first answer was 'sheer egoism' on his essay
Why I write and it was already lingering in the back of my mind. We live in an age in which cyber space adds a significant extra dimension for our existence. It becomes an easy excuse to for the endless facebooking, Tweeting and blogging but it can't be a reason for me to indulge? So without pretension, for what other generous motives? To connect with my loved ones or social network in a deeper way? Or to store up thoughts as i see them for the future or as Orwell says as
historical impulse? Or because of
aesthetic enthusiasm - to express artistically with proper arrangement of words, tones, rhythm and rhyme of ideas, thoughts and experiences? May be all of these are behind to some degree on my feeble effort to start blogging. But my hope is that the gracious God would allow the charitable motives, whatever that might be, to out shine the selfish ones. May His name be glorified!
